Secret Garden Dress

Maxi Dress: Show Me Your Mumu | Heels: Steve Madden | Earrings: Kendra Scott | Ring: Kendra Scott | Sunnies: Ray-Ban | Bag: Tory Burch

Let me start off by saying that I am not a winter girl….  I don't do cold- I dislike coats, pants, feeling like a giant blob. I love prints, colors, dresses, and feminine pieces. This dress is seriously like a breath of fresh air with the floral print and flowing train. This dress was also made for twirling! I don't think I could stop the whole time we were shooting this look. So mature, I know. Maxi dresses will be your best friend this Spring! They are such an easy way to look put together, with minimal effort (goodbye having to choose 17 different pieces to layer).

Bye winter….. won't miss ya, leaving you for Spring!

I love a good faux fur coat- to me it conveys someone fabulous and playful, like Samantha from Sex and the City (sans the promiscuous behavior haha) ! This is the perfect outfit for a night out on the town!

I am keeping this post short and sweet (minimal rambling) - I am off to a lunch date on this snowy day in Dallas (thats right, I said SNOW!)

Red Riding Hood

Coat: Mango (similar here) | Sweater: Old, similar here | Jeans: Zara | Boots: Old, similar here | Earrings: Kendra Scott | Necklace: Kendra Scott | Sunnies: Ray-Ban

Just like a statement necklace, I love a good statement coat! It is hard to breakaway from looking like a giant black blob during the winter so a bold color coat is just the trick!
Now is also the perfect time to snag one for next winter because most are on major sale!

This jacket. Drop the mic….
I feel like I could end the post there and be happy, but let me rant to you guys for a little bit. If there were one item in my closet that probably described my style and personality in a nutshell, it would be this little beauty. It is vibrant, colorful, has embroidered stitching, and just screams "look at me", (promise I am not an attention whore). Even better, it is under $40. It has been teasing me in my closet all winter, so come February I finally deemed it appropriate to wear (since when do I follow fashion rules?). Texas has been dabbling in some spring weather every other weekend, so she finally made her debut last weekend.

Fun jackets like this are the perfect way to add some color and personality to your outfit. Also don't be afraid to do a little print mixing too-- I can't wait to pair this with my leopard print dress (stay tuned).

PS- Currently writing this post while sipping champagne at Drybar….life is good :)

Not-So Mellow Yellow

Moto Jacket: c/o 1.STATE | Jeans: Gap (on sale!) | Shoes: Sam Edelman (major sale) | Earrings: Kendra Scott | Drusy Ring: Kendra Scott | Drusy Bracelet: Kendra Scott (no longer available) | Sunnies: Ray-Ban

If I could have a theme song playing in the background of each post like in the MySpace days (is that even around anymore?) this one would totally be "Yellow" by Coldplay. Sorry, not sorry for having that stuck in your head while you read this!

From pastels, to neons, yellow is such a happy color! I do not know what it is, but someone wearing yellow looks so fun and approachable to me! I know some of you blondes out there are thinking "easy for you, having dark hair and olive skin", but I promise you blondes can pull it off too- just with the right shade for your hair and skin tone! For me, the brighter the better (I think that is a constant theme in my wardrobe), I love the bright hues because it makes my dark hair stand out.

I am a sucker for a good moto jacket, so this one was love at first sight- thank you so much 1.STATE for this beauty.
