Breaking all the Rules

So this outfit might be breaking just about every Southern unwritten fashion rule there ever was. The major one being that it is very much after Labor Day, it's pretty much October, and I am not wearing just a little white, but ALL white. But like I have said before, I don't believe in that rule one bit, it is also still a warm 97 degrees here in Texas. Of course I am wearing the infamous Zara blogger skort, let's all act like we haven't seen this styled 57,000 times already. I have been living in Dallas for 9 months now, and these might be my favorite pictures because this was the first time I had really explored the Downtown area, which is beautiful, and had some of the most interesting characteristics to each building, and don't worry I changed into more comfy shoes.

Mom Jeans

High waisted shorts (AKA "mom jeans") have been my "go- to" shorts of the summer. I literally wore mine just about every week sorry I'm not sorry.  I'm all about the cutoffs, just make sure they're not TOO short.

This also might be one of my favorite shirts in my closet, flannel AND gold studs?? Um, yes please. It was in the 80s this weekend in Dallas which is pretty much considered "fall", so naturally I broke out the flannel. This is what I wore with friends to brunch and drink at one of our favorite outdoor spots here.

Summertime Sadness

So summer is almost officially over... and I don't quite know how I feel about that yet. After a few months of cool weather we all fantasize about summer, then after a few months of warm weather we are back to fantasizing about fall. It's a never-ending cycle!! I will admit that I am more than ready for the cooler weather, I've been stocking up on oversize sweaters and boots meanwhile it's still 100+ degrees here in Texas! So you can guarantee the first day under 80 degrees the boots and sweaters are coming out! 

Anyways, this is my farewell summer dress. I just want to add that I do NOT believe in the "No white after Labor Day" rule. So you can bet white is on repeat year round. I will even be showing you how you can still wear some of your summer Maxi's when the weather gets cooler so stay tuned.

Orange is the New Black

I know, I know.... it's been way too long. I honestly do not have a good excuse as to why I have been away so long! Thank you for all the sweet comments and emails as well as those of you asking when I will be back. I did move into a new place with two of my girlfriends recently so that kept me busy for awhile-- I'm thinking a home post soon?!?

In reference to my title, who else is hooked on "Orange is the New Black" ?!? My roommates and I literally finished season one within a week span. Now we wait until season two...... ohh the torture. 

I picked up these shorts at the beginning of the summer and let me tell ya'll, they are literally traffic cone orange! Which is fine by me because I'm all about the neon. And I know I have said this before, but ladies, I think it is safe to say, "when in doubt, CHAMBRAY it out" haha but really this might be the most universal shirt ever! It can be dressed up, or down and literally goes with everything. I might or might not own like six (In descending shades of course).
